James Spence has signed a two-way deal with Kirkcaldy Kestrels and Fife Flyers for the 2024/25 season.

The 22-year-old operated under a similar arrangement last term and will continue to feature in the Elite League and Scottish National League.

He weighed in with ten goals and 11 assists in 19 appearances for the Kestrels last season and will be keen to add to his tally this time around.

A product of the Kirkcaldy Ice Hockey Club junior system, Spence demonstrated his points-scoring ability with Fife Flames in 2016/17.

Spence bagged 49 points in just 14 appearances before heading to Canada. He subsequently spent three years with the Ontario Hockey Academy before joining Polish side Opole HK in 2020.

After averaging more than a point per game in Poland’s second-tier league, he headed back to Scotland during the 2021/22 season.

Spence has remained in his homeland since then and will continue his development with the Kestrels and Flyers this season.
