Kirkcaldy Kestrels started their 2025 fixtures in style with a hugely impressive 5-3 victory at Edinburgh Capitals on Saturday.
The Capitals took an early lead at Murrayfield Ice Rink, but Scott Jamieson levelled the scoreline in the 18th minute.
Grant Jamieson put the Kestrels 2-1 ahead after 24 minutes, but two goals either side of the second buzzer moved the home side back in front.
However, three goals in the final seven minutes secured a stylish win for Steven Wishart’s side.
Kyle Horne, Kian Shevlin and Allan Anderson hit the target as the Kestrels put a dent in the Capitals’ title hopes.
The result moved the Kestrels five points behind the Murrayfield-based side with a game in hand.
The team are back in action at North Ayrshire Wild on Saturday (6.30 pm). The next home game is against Aberdeen Lynx on January 18th (6.00 pm).
