Kirkcaldy Kestrels produced a stylish performance to record their first victory of the 2024/25 Scottish National League (SNL) season on Sunday.

The Kestrels travelled to Murrayfield Ice Rink to face Paisley Pirates aiming to find some form after suffering defeats against Aberdeen Lynx and Edinburgh Capitals.

Conor Duncan opened the scoring midway through the opening period, finishing with aplomb after fine work by Finley King.

King and Grant Jamieson added further goals before the first buzzer to put the Kestrels firmly in control of the contest.

Youngster CJ Giannandrea continued his fine start to the season by netting a superb effort in the 24th minute.

The 15-year-old played like a seasoned professional throughout the game and has quickly settled into life at senior level.

Ross Henderson made it 5-0 in the 47th minute before Duncan bagged his second of the match to round off the Kestrels’ scoring.

The Pirates frustratingly denied netminder Andy Little a shut-out with a goal to make it 6-1 in the 58th minute.

The Kestrels are back in action on Sunday when North Ayrshire Wild visit Fife Ice Arena (6.00 pm).
