Kirkcaldy Kestrels will be eager to return to winning ways when they hit the ice for the first time in 2025 at Edinburgh Capitals tomorrow (6.30 pm).

The Kestrels were defeated by Dundee Rockets in their final game before the festive period. The result left them fourth in the Scottish National League standings.

They are now six points behind third-placed Aberdeen Lynx with a game in hand. The Kestrels still have time to bridge the gap if they piece together a winning run.

The Capitals head into the weekend second in the table, just one point behind the Rockets after reeling off three victories in four days during Christmas and New Year.

The two sides split their two meetings at Fife Ice Arena earlier in the season. The Capitals triumphed 4-3 in the first game, but the Kestrels hit back with a 5-2 victory in their second clash.

Steven Wishart’s squad has been boosted by the addition of Solway Sharks’ ‘D’ man Kian Shevlin, who is expected to be in the line-up this weekend.
