Kirkcaldy Kestrels are still waiting for their first win of the season after slipping to a narrow 4-3 home defeat against Edinburgh Capitals on Sunday.

The Capitals took the lead three times during the first two periods but were pegged back by the Kestrels on each occasion.

George Pitcaithly (2) and Graeme Chalmers-Allan got the goals for the home side to set up a tense final period at Fife Ice Arena.

However, the Kestrels’ hopes of success were scuppered in the 42nd minute as James Isaacs netted the game-winning goal for the Capitals.

The Kestrels created a handful of chances during the rest of the contest but were unable to find a way past netminder Craig Chalmers.

Steven Wishart’s side are back in action against Paisley Pirates at Murrayfield Ice Rink (5.45 pm) on Sunday.
