Kirkcaldy Kestrels’ bid to build some momentum ahead of the Scottish National League (SNL) play-offs received a timely boost on Saturday.

The Kestrels recorded an emphatic 8-2 home victory over Kilmarnock Thunder to maintain their grip on fourth place in the SNL.

Conor Duncan (3) topped the scoring, while Ross Henderson (2), Allan Anderson, George Pitcaithly and Grant Jamieson were also on the scoresheet.

Jake Blyth was impressive on his debut for the Kestrels, becoming the fourth player from the club’s junior system to step up to the SNL this season.

Callum McLaren, CJ Giannandrea and Caiden Forbes have also debuted for the Kestrels this term, highlighting the strength of the pathway from Kirkcaldy Ice Hockey Club.

The Kestrels are back in action on Saturday at Aberdeen Lynx. They round off their regular season fixtures at home to North Ayrshire Wild (March 8th) and Paisley Pirates (March 16th).
