Kirkcaldy Kestrels hit the road this weekend for two important games in the league and cup.

The Kestrels will be eager to return to winning ways when they visit Kilmarnock Thunder in the Scottish National League (SNL) today.

Their 6-5 overtime defeat at Dundee Rockets last weekend ended a five-game unbeaten run in all competitions and left them fourth in the SNL standings.

However, a victory at the Galleon Centre would keep them in touch with the top three teams heading into the festive season.

The Kestrels have already defeated Thunder twice this season and will fancy their chances of adding another win to their tally.

Steven Wishart’s side will switch their attention to the Scottish Cup on Sunday.

They visit Edinburgh Capitals in the first leg of their semi-final tie and will be keen to secure a positive result ahead of the reverse fixture.

The two sides have faced each other twice in the league at Fife Ice Arena this season, with each recording a victory.

The second leg is scheduled to be played in February. The winners of the tie play the Rockets or Aberdeen Lynx in the final.
