It was a productive weekend for two of the club’s junior teams, with Fife Redwings and Fife Falcons winning their respective league games.

The Redwings claimed an impressive home victory over Murrayfield U12, which should boost their confidence for the challenges which lie ahead.

The squad is relatively youthful this season, which means they are often battling against older opponents during games.

However, they laid down a marker on Saturday, with numerous players weighing in with goals and assists against Murrayfield.

The game was particularly noteworthy for Kobi Wishart, Harry Baillie and Owen Wotherspoon, who netted their first goals at U12 level.

Adam Aird was the Redwings’ MVP, while Mason Kelly deserves a huge pat on the back for supporting his teammates from the bench after missing out through injury.

The Falcons showed plenty of character in their victory at Dundee Stars U19 on Sunday, battling back from a two-goal deficit to claim a 4-3 victory.

Josh Saunders (2), Joe Somerville and Caiden Forbes got the goals, while Cameron Bease was the MVP.

When the players dialled in as a collective unit, they looked like a team that was never getting beat.

However, when the concentration wasn’t spot on, they struggled.

Despite this, taking the points from a difficult place to play bodes well for the team’s chances of enjoying a successful season.
