The club’s U10 team produced an impressive display in a challenge game at Lanarkshire Lightning last weekend, shaking off a slow start to deliver a fantastic effort on the ice.

The players initially struggled to find their rhythm but showed real character by working through the early pressure, holding their ground and steadily improving as the game went on.

They grew into the game in the second period, making smarter passes and showing more confidence in their positioning.

The defence tightened up, clearing pucks more effectively, and the forwards began pressing high, creating opportunities and generating some good scoring chances.

The whole team’s communication and teamwork were excellent, and it was clear that everyone was digging deep to stay competitive.

The final period was a testament to the players’ hard work and determination. They pushed until the last buzzer, putting pressure on the opposition.

They battled for every puck and showed that they weren’t going down without a fight.

It was a true team effort, and the improvement they showed from start to finish was something to be proud of.

The game highlighted the team’s spirit and potential. The coaches were proud of how they came together, adjusted and showed some real heart.

KIHC head coach Steven Wishart ran the bench at the game.

He said: “The MVP went to Liam Coles, who scored a classy hat-trick. A shout-out goes to Struan Patterson and Dante Rennie, who scored their first goals for the Eagles.”
