It was a productive weekend for the club at junior level, with our teams recording four victories and a draw in five matches.
Fife Falcons produced a sparkling performance at home to North Ayrshire Wild U19 to secure a 5-1 victory.
Joe Somerville scored the opening goal and picked up the MVP award. Ross Henderson, Cameron Bease, CJ Giannandrea and Jake Blyth were also on the scoresheet.
The victory was excellent in the context of the league given that Wild had defeated Solway Sharks the previous night.
Spreading the goals around bodes well for the rest of the season, although the coaches believe there is still plenty of improvement to come.
Much like the recent victory over Belfast Giants, there are signs that the systems and methodology are starting to work.
Fife Flames continued their impressive start to the new season with an emphatic 13-1 home victory over North Ayrshire’s U16 team.
Ryan Venters (4) topped the scoring after linking up well with Cal McLaren. All three lines went at it during the game to help the Flames keep rolling. Sam Roberston was the MVP.
Fife Phantoms enjoyed a goal-packed weekend in their two fixtures against Kilmarnock and North Ayrshire U14.
Another four-goal haul for Ryan Venters earned him the MVP award against Wild. Jackson O’Neil (3) and Charlie McLean (3) were among the other scorers.
Kaiden Coles (2) and Mason Kelly were on target for Fife Redwings as they battled to a 3-3 draw at Kilmarnock U12. Netminder Rory Morris was the MVP.
