Kirkcaldy Kestrels start their 2024/25 Scottish National League (SNL) fixtures with a tough trip to Aberdeen Lynx on Saturday (7.15 pm).

Lynx head into the new campaign as the reigning league champions and will be eager to begin with a victory in front of a sell-out crowd.

The two teams’ most recent competitive fixture was in the semi-finals of the SNL play-offs at the end of the last season.

The Kestrels were underdogs at the Final Four Weekend but produced a superb performance to secure an impressive 5-3 victory over Lynx.

They were subsequently defeated by Edinburgh Capitals in the final but could be proud of their efforts against higher-seeded opponents.

Steven Wishart’s side have played two challenge games at home during pre-season, losing 4-1 against Lynx before defeating Paisley 4-3 after a penalty shoot-out.

They will be eager to make an impression in their opening game of the regular season this weekend.
